Journey into nature
From Hanau, the native town of the Brothers Grimm, the holiday route meanders up north to Bremerhaven. On its way, it leads through diverse landscapes of storybook woods, shrouded in legendary castles, romantic river courses and the sea. Eleven nature parks and two national parks along the route offer interesting guided tours and events as well as opportunities for action-filled holidays. For instance, travelers can roam ancient beech forests, overnight in tree houses, visit wilderness parks and stroll along treetop paths. Thousands of kilometers of certified hiking paths open up nature along the German Fairy Tale Route, cycling routes in the river valleys invite you for relaxed biking tours.
