The Brothers Grimm
Who doesn’t know the famous brothers, Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm? Especially Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the more than two hundred additional fairy tales from Tales of Children and the Home they collected have made them world-renowned for posterity. However, the tireless and inseparable scholars also gained fame and recognition with additional fundamental works. The "German Dictionary" authored by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, for instance, is still considered a standard work of German linguistics and is used at the GRIMMWELT Kassel exhibition to provide visitors various ways to access the multi-facetted works of the Grimms from A to Z. This work also includes 585 "German Legends" that Jacob and Wilhelm collected and published in two volumes for the first time in 1816/18.
Under the motto "startling", this jubilee marks the occasion to celebrate and honour the famous brothers with numerous events along the German Fairy Tale Route from the middle of 2016 to the middle of 2018.
