Puppet theatre "Die Holzköppe"
During your visit in Steinau you should not miss visiting the Steinau pupppet theatre "Die Holzköppe", accommodated in the former horse stables of the castle since 1955.
In summer the theatre performs the beautiful fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm almost daily. But also the "Magical Theatre - All in Black", Doctor Faust, The Chinese Nightingale, and "Die gestiefelte Rumpelkäppchen" (this piece exclusively for adults) are extremely popular. The programme is meant for children as well as adults.
The puppeteers of the Magersuppe family have been holding the strings in their hands now for over 80 years. The secret of the performers' ability to cast a spell over the audience is the warmth and humanity that radiates from their performance!
On weekends the curtain rises Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm for all large and small friends of the puppet shows.
