Fascinating and far away from irritating transit traffic, in a quiet green corridor with allotment gardens, embedded in the course of the “Wilde” brook. Not far from the elaborately restored railway station with terrific view of city and palace.

Payment: parking space €5/day and caravans; €1.00 for 45 litres of drinking water (water including waste water), €1.00 for 10 hours electricity. Distances: town centre 1.5 km (city bus directly at the caravan site);

The site lies in the direct vicinity of two food discounters (LIDL and ALDI), beverage, drugstore and do-it-yourself market, butcher, bakery and snack-bar. Next service station 0.8 km.

German Fairy Tale Route tip

Baroque palace Friedrichstein, Altwildungen. Here lived the daughter of the Waldeckische Earl Margaretha, who lost her life at a young age under mysterious circumstances. Her fate is supposed to have served the Brothers Grimm as the model for their famous fairytale figure “Snow White”. In all probability, the dwarves originated from the nearby mine Bergfreiheit. Today one can still visit an exhibition mine and the cosy Snow White House. Several times in the year, fairytale enactments are performed on the Bergfreiheit nature stage.
